Quality, coated extrusions are a huge part of the architectural market, and this incredible new vertical line is taking the application of performance coatings with an improved sustainability footprint to a whole new level.

International Extrusions in Garden City, Michigan, have seen some changes in the architectural market in the 85 years they’ve been in business. Serving extrusion customers in the residential and commercial markets as well as trailer, fencing, RV and even general manufacturing they have developed a high level of expertise and the ability to adapt, nimbly pivoting to meet the needs of these markets to deliver continued growth.

The extrusions are manufactured with quality at the forefront and are designed to meet the customer’s specific need. With this in mind, the business encompasses comprehensive in-house fabrication facilities, a detailed quality assurance program and of course, the new, state of the art vertical powder coating line.

Nick Noecker, President of International Extrusions explains, “We are always looking at market trends, and sustainability has become a mainstay in architectural design, with architects looking for ways to deliver on sustainability and embodied carbon goals. Architectural grade powder is a more sustainable product on many levels, and we were looking for a way to make our own product and processes more sustainable.”

Recognizing that the architectural community wants performance AND sustainability from their coatings, offering different types of architectural performance powders that exceed the performance requirements of the AAMA 2603, 2604 and 2605 specifications, means no one has to compromise on technical performance and these projects benefit from a tough, world class coating performance with an excelled sustainability footprint.

In addition to the powder, adding a more efficient, and let’s face it, pretty impressive, vertical line has been a huge upgrade in the powder coating process, and one that is already paying dividends. This video, showcasing “The Cube” – the new powder coating line installed at International Extrusions sums it up…

Noecker continues, “adding the new vertical line was absolutely the right investment for us. It is delivering greater, more efficient production capability, reduces energy consumption in the process, delivers extreme repeatability and consistent quality which in turn reduces defects, and it is significantly more ergonomic in design, which reduces wear on our employees.”

As you can see yourself, the line is impressive, with protective, superior performance coated extrusions being delivered efficiently and with a minimal footprint and maximum effectiveness. Great news for the architectural design and construction community!
